This is an international day to inspire and educate kids and their families about health, safety and the environment. This is a day for families and friends to spend time enjoying life with kids, while at the same time inspiring kids to take a hold of things that will ultimately change their lives. Not only is it for kids and their families, but it is also for the community. |

The community was directly benefited by all proceeds that were generated by this event being sponsored by local individuals as well as local businesses. The two recipients of these contributions were Both Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Thrive, Inc. It is a win-win for everyone who participates in this community event. This is an annual event that is brought to you by Dr. Justin and Dr. Kim at AFC, with the help of many other individuals and businesses through out this valley.
Kid’s Day has been going on for 12 years, and it has become an international event. It is now taking place in a number of different countries. We at Anderson Family Chiropractic, decided to bring it to Bozeman for the first time last year. The event was held in our office and it was a tremendous success. There were over two hundred people who attended this event in a short 4 hour period. Because of the overwhelming success, in 2006, we decided to include more of the community and make it an outdoor event in order to prevent any space limitations. Once again, it was a great success with an overwhelming positive response. As a result, next year this same event will be even bigger and better. We are envisioning for the long term, an event that will grow to be a “Sweet Pea” for kids.
What does Kid’s Day of Bozeman look like? This year’s event, which took place at the Bozeman High School practice fields, included a wide variety of booths and community sponsors such as Walmart, Lerhrkind’s Coca-Cola, Darigold, Museum of the Rockies, Bridger Ridge Homemade Ice cream, and so many more. The Bozeman Police department was also on site with finger print ID kits. The Bozeman fire department was included and they were educating the kids about fire safety. Also, the American Medical Response team was there with their ambulance educating the kids about safety and how to call 911 in time of an emergency. In addition, there were many other participants in this even and there were also many other activities. Thanks to the generous support of the community, there were also prize drawings for all kinds of great gifts. Some of these gifts included a ride on the fire truck and a tour of the fire station, a bicycle, a barbeque gill and so many other great gifts.
The success of this event was overwhelming! As a result of the community support, including all donations, prizes, and cash contributions this year’s event generated over $9,000. This was amazing, and it makes us even more exited to see how next year’s event becomes even bigger and better. For anyone wishing to participate in next years event please call Dr. Justin or Dr. Kim at 522-LIFE (5433). |
